Living in the night: Bloodlines 2 ??

 

Imagine that you are a powerful vampire, immortal… jumping from building to building, gathering secrets of the city you hide in… Some of us have already lived this thanks to the tabletop roleplaying game “Vampire: The Masquerade”, but the technology is offering a new opportunity to live this experience again through videogames.

“Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2” is a title that puts you in the place of a vampire that “lives” in Seattle. A city to walk in in the night, looking for the blood of the mortals you need to keep existing, hiding you and your people real identity… while you survive in a political war that never ends.

 

 

This title, from its origins in 1991, is a social and personal horror game. Your mortal life is torn from you and you become a blood beast. You can become a monster or try to preserve your identity and sanity.

Add to this situation the different vampire factions, the Clans that characterize and divide your new species … and each of these divisions fights for their own interests.

Developing this video game, with Unreal Engine as game engine, is a great challenge. We are in a scenario that takes place in a night city, full of mortals that should not discover you but at the same time you need them when thirst arrives.

 

 

Besides all that, this city is divided into two different levels: the surface, where everything seems normal, calm and civilized … and the underground, where vampires sometimes take refuge, conspire and hide their most terrible secrets. Imagine going through all those scenes in an open world that seems to have no limits, creating a feeling of unimaginable immersion.

Social mechanics are guaranteed, imagine all the possibilities!

The development team also has to fight not to disappoint the audience that already knows the title, and will have high expectations about the game. And without forgetting to welcome those players who have not yet entered this dark universe.

No doubt this world is alive. The high social component of the setting asks that each conversation, each dialogue and each option you choose when you interact with other characters have their consequences, and they will not always be pleasant. How many alternatives, how many branches of the same story can we create as we play? Behind all this there is a development and creative team with commendable work.

World of Darkness, the fictional world where all these stories occur, not only hides vampires … but also werewolves, mages, even not so charming changelings. Who knows if one day we will see new deliveries that include these creatures?

We will enjoy incredible graphics thanks to NVIDIA RTX technology, which will offer us a level of realism that will make Seattle an incredible city.

 

 

To this great news we can add the mod support that will include the game, making the community can turn to create additional content to the title. As will be? Will we see more Clans, more factions, more powers? Everything is yet to be discovered!

What about the release date? Originally scheduled for March 2020, but Bloodlines 2 has been pushed back to an unspecified time later in the year. Anytime, we look forward to discovering all the secrets of this new nightlife.
